Dermatologist · The Panja medical family
Dhanapati Panja was a dermatologist and the younger brother of Ganapati Panja. Published family accounts place both brothers in Bengal’s early history of specialist skin medicine.[1][2]
His sons were dermatologist and parliamentarian Ranjit Kumar Panja and lawyer and Union minister Ajit Kumar Panja.[3][4]
His name is commemorated by the Dhanapati Panja Memorial Oration. A clinician’s professional record documents its delivery at the 85th reunion of Medical College, Calcutta, preserving another link between his memory and the city’s medical community.[5]
