Ranjit Kumar Panja studied at Medical College, Calcutta, and the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh. He taught dermatology at Calcutta’s Medical College, serving as professor from 1974 to 1990.[1]
His research included collagen diseases of the skin (1957–1961), and he wrote MCQ 1001-on Dermatology Venereology and Leprology. He also served as honorary professor and consultant at the Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences, Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan.[1]
Elected from Barasat in 1998, he served in the Twelfth Lok Sabha on the human-resource-development committee and its medical-education subcommittee. His medical service included rural camps in West Bengal.[1]
